Overcoming Exam Anxiety and Loss of Confidence

“When I started with Teija I had experienced a few failures at a particular exam I was attempting to pass. As it was connected to my working environment it started causing me a lot of anxiety and loss of confidence.

Through a period of about 2-3 months Teija, through the use of various techniques, peeled away the anxiety and gave me tools that I could use when I found myself in a state of procrastination or anxiety. I cannot express how grateful I am for the time, tools and perspectives she has shared with me. My experience as I have prepared for my upcoming  exams, have been far more focused, allowing me to revise (or in her words ‘deposit into my memory bank’) in a far more precise manner (minus the extreme anxiety).

Self help through CBT and hypnosis

Sessions with Teija have helped me enormously. She has taught me techniques to use every day which stop me overanalysing or obsessing over situations and conversations. As a result I feel happier and “lighter” in myself; I sleep better and am more constructive and positive as a person.

No more chocolate for me

"After sessions with Teija, I feel much better and I felt that I learned how to gain control over over-eating.

I completely stopped eating sweets after only one session (which was my main goal). The other two sessions helped to intensify this. This was also the most important aspect of my weight loss due to fear of becoming a diabetic. I highly recommend hypnotherapy for anyone who decides to lose weight".

Hypnobirthing worked an absolute treat

"Hypno worked an absolute treat.. this is what happened...
I had a Birth centre assessment at 3pm thurs 27, my waters broke 7pm that day but with no contractions. Had quick checkup at birth centre and they sent me home- they said i had to have contractions within 24 hours or come back for another check but this time in the labour ward.

I had a bath and went to bed at 10pm when contractions started and I used relaxation and hypno until contractions were every 3-4mins at 6 am when I woke my to put tens machine on for some additional comfort. My husband called the centre at 7. 30 am fri and I got my room at 8 am. It's a beautiful environment just like a hotel room and the midwives are supportive of natural birth. The first midwife asked if she could do a vaginal examination to which I said no and she said she had to to know how dilated I was but she'd check with her chief midwife but I said to her that my labour was progressing well and I didn't want to risk it slowing down.

So for first stage labour in the centre, I was very active moving round and standing etc per NCT advice and tried gas and air. I didn't like it so only used hypno and tens. I didn't ask for midwife until felt second stage beginning and I really had to push. The midwife who then came was the chief midwife. She read my birth plan, was very supportive and asked if I wanted a vaginal examination and to think about it for 10 mins. I decided to have one then because I didn't think it would interfere with progress by then, I was confident baby was ready to come down. When she came back and checked, she was so astonished that the head was already visible and I was so calm.

I had natural third stage and baby had skin to skin and she fed straight away. The midwife was telling us how amazing it was to witness a hypnobirth.

I definitely think hypno worked very well - I found the whole first stage labour manageable and mild discomfort which is testimony to how effective it must be (I don't think the tens alone would have worked) and have been advocating it to all pregnant girls that I know.
The midwife also wants a written birth story and photo of Anna for her wall at the birth centre which makes me really proud of what we achieved.
I say we because my husband was a fab birth partner and reminded me to control breathing and that all was going well throughout which was so helpful. I also say "we" because you definitely were part of this birth from our sessions and your CDs"

Changed habits for weight loss

Just to say thank you for working with me over the last few weeks. I have now started to see and feel some real changes in lifelong bad habits.
I can't thank you enough for taking me on this journey, and look forward to using the self-hypnosis techniques I learned today to make more and more changes.

Calm and energised

I stopped smoking with hypnosis

“ I was always a bit weary of having hypnotherapy/NLP sessions to give up smoking; it is a very important decision and requires determination and self-convincement. Teija advised me to take this session but reiterated that it would only work if I was prepared and motivated to stop smoking. It is important that your mind is ready to accept the fact and Teija reiterated its importance. She is not a magician and portraits trust in these sessions.

Few days before the session, Teija did some preparatory work and asked me to complete a form related to my every day habits, past and present health issues (if any), medications, etc.; also, there is a document that is to be read prior to the session. The document basically talks about how smoking impacts in our lives, how much damage a cigarette does, etc. I found it quite shocking, it put me in perspective and I touched reality. Already my mind was set and I think I even smoked much less on the same day I read the document. I started to question my habit.

The session itself was a wonderful journey to my inner self. Teija has a very subtle way to get to your mind and works simultaneously with your conscious and sub conscious; at one point, I found myself talking to my sub-conscious and asked it to release me from this horrible habit.

Her way is very professional, and she takes you to the depth of your mind without any pressure or discomfort. I wondered during the session why I was so silly to smoke and all was done in a pleasant manner, so relaxed that I did not want her to stop. She talks to your cognitive and non-cognitive mind in an easy manner.

As a result, all those old self-limiting beliefs about smoking: like smoking helps you relax or feel somehow better, how you smoke because you're addicted to nicotine, or how it's going to be really hard to quit, all these self-limiting beliefs became easily and comfortably a thing of the past.

I do not miss smoking and have replaced old habitual smoking behaviors with far more natural and healthy stuff. I feel mentally calmer, physically more relaxed and altogether more confident.
