Mindfulness session 18th of October 2024 BP emplyees only

In this session we exploring Mindfulness in Communication.

Often when we are listening to other people our mind is wandering somewhere else. How many times have you sat in a meeting or a presentation and realised you did not hear parts of what was being said?  Or had a coffee with a colleague or a friend and could not recall afterwards what your talked about? It is surprising how difficult it is actually to just listen and to really hear and be aware of the other person and what they are saying.

Mindfulness awareness helps you to stay with the situation that is occurring right here and now. In this session we’ll experience the effects of listening and being listened to with awareness. We will also explore Mindful Speaking; how to express our own opinions and what we want mindfully.

 

Mindfulness session Wednesday 19th November 12-13 Open to all employees of BP at Canary Wharf

We all have experienced days when things just seem to go wrong. Perhaps we have just heard some bad news or are feeling unwell.

During this session we will carry out Mindfulness practises to help to find the natural steadiness in ourselves despite of the situation we are finding ourselves in.

 

Mindfulness session Wednesday 3rd December 12-13 Open to all employees of BP at Canary Wharf

Have you ever noticed yourself feeling fearful of approaching someone because you need to have a difficult conversation with them, or perhaps you’ve had some past difficulties with them and now need to speak to them?

In today’s session we will explore Mindfulness in Relationships and carry out practical exercises how to prepare yourself for getting ready and managing the situation.

Mindfulness session Tuesday 21st October

In this session we will look at the ways of weaving Mindfulness into our daily lives, into practises that are sustainable long term. We will visit the Mindfulness meditations that are helpful for getting out of ‘hot spots’ and look at how we can continue to maintain peace in today’s frantic world.

Mindfulness session Wednesday 8th October

In this session we look at how many of life’s problems, such as unhappiness, anxiety and stress can progressively spiral into exhaustion which drains away your energy to enjoy life to full. We will learn to recognise the pattern of this progressive spiral and the symptoms.

We will learn how to use Mindfulness to rebalance our daily lives, create breathing space when you most need it and how to take action to get you out of the downwards spiral and back to balance.

Mindfulness session 24th September

In this session we’ll explore the impact the memories of the past events have on us and our emotional state. Through practices in this session we will learn how to treat ourselves with kindness and friendship reclaiming our lives. We will learn how we can nourish ourselves through empathy and how to deal with negative thoughts.

Mindfulness session 10th September

This week we will continue our Mindfulness journey by turning towards difficulties. The practices in this session will gently invite you to explore how your body reacts to difficulties and how we can learn to overcome them through sense of  awareness and by redirecting and expanding our attention, overcoming habits and through acceptance.

Mindfulness 10th July

We have now began the process of revealing how the mind works and opened up the possibility that your thoughts are thoughts and not who you are.

In this session we'll take this enhanced awareness and build it closer into your everyday life. You will learn how to:

use mindfulness in movement. The gentle meditation exercises will help you physically re-align many of your muscles and joints, releasing build up stresses in the body.

dissolve negative thought patterns using a 3 minute meditation so you can maintain a mindful stance what ever comes your way.

use mindfulness to release a habit.

Mindfulness 29th July

 In this session we continue using skills already learned and will expand our awareness to sounds, being present and mindful about the sounds around us and growing our ability to focus without striving. 

Mindfulness of the Body 24th June

This session follows on the work already started during the 'Intro to Mindfulness'.

Join us to learn how we can become fully integrated with our bodies one more. Through the exercises in this session you will be learning how to develop your capacity to pay sustained attention, learn how to discover your mindful awareness and practical tips to how to pay appreciation to here and now.

Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment and is designed to help people become more aware of their thoughts and feelings so they can learn to manage them appropriately. It allows you to gain more insight into your emotions. By learning how to remain mindful in the present you will begin to have less space for any unhelpful feelings.

Join us to learn out about mindfulness in series of 4 lunchtime sessions and start your journey to boost your attention and concentration and to gain more insight into your emotions, curb your habits through becoming aware of what is maintaining them and even improve your relationships!

New Year - A New Way of Managing Changes -at BP

Nothing is constant in life; change occurs whether you want it or fight it.  But how do you make the personal change process work beneficially for you so it improves your overall well-being?

In this session we examine principles of cognitive behavioural and mindfulness approaches for the personal chance process. You will also learn simple techniques for developing  self-acceptance and how to use mindfulness to clear your mind and improve your focus.
